CILANTRO RICE

INGREDIENTS

Cocked rice 1 cup
Onion 1
Green chilli 2
Peas 1/4 cup
Cilantro 1/2 bunch
Cumin powder 2 tsp
Garam masala 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder a pinch
salt to taste

METHOD


Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.

cut onion and green chilli length wise.

When the cumin seeds start spluttering, add onion, green chilli and fry until the onions turn transparent in color.

Then add cumin powder, turmeric, garam masala and salt. Add peas and stir till u get the good flavour and raw smell goes.

Add rice and cilantro. mix well.

Garnish with cilantro.

Serve hot.

Thanks for reminding me this receipe. My mom used to do this.she used to make a side dish from potato fr this.boil potatoes and mash it.Grind 2 big tomatoes,chili,dhaniaand ginger.heat oil in a kadai and add jeeragam,and add potatoes finely smashed and the finely grind masala.finally arnish with cilantro.can used fo poori and chapati.especially during some viradhams when we dont use onion it can be made.

hope u have prepared this dish with basmati rice. can u mail me how many cup of waters will be required to cook 1 cup of rice in a pressure cooker?

S u r rit i used basmati rice. 1 cup rice -2 cup of water. for cooking rice 1 cup rice- 2and half or 3 cups of water depends on rice(new one or old one.
